Digital Patient Reported Outcome Measures

PROMs are questionnaire tools that capture a patient's view of their symptoms, functional status, and quality of life. Digital versions are administered to patients using their 'smart devices', providing ease for patients and healthcare services.

The C19-YRS digital PROMs platform, developed by ELAROS in partnership with The University of Leeds and Leeds NHS Trusts, is used by numerous NHS Long COVID services. This platform is used in the LOCOMOTION study to collect PROMs with the aim of understanding the trajectory of Long COVID patient's condition and to validating the COVID-19 Yorkshire Rehabilitation Scale, a Long COVID specific outcome measure.

The authors of this BMJ opinion piece are advocating for the need to adopt the use of digital PROMs within all services for long term conditions.
